Ontario Branch History

There are three Branches in the Canadian Region of the Clan Cameron North America Association, which is one of four International Associations: Australia, New Zealand, North America and Scotland. Within these, there are some 30+ Branches worldwide. Our aim is to preserve and promote Scottish History and culture, with particular reference to our Cameron Clan .

Ontario Branch is some 90 families strong and has several members with a keen interest in genealogy. Our Clan Seat at Achnacarry, Scotland, also has a small museum with resident knowledge and historical background We share our newsletter The Ontario Piper with other Branches. It is produced 4 times a year.

Clan Cameron Ontario attends variety of Highland Games through the summer and have two or three Clan get together throughout the year. Of special note is our 'Cattle Reiving' hike in September. We have initiated the collection and archiving of Family histories which complement a special project to understand where our members originated and where they have settled.
